About National Farmers MicroFund
Keeping Farmers on the Land. Strengthening Rural America.
The National Farmers MicroFund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping family farmers overcome financial hardship, preserve their land, and build a stronger future for American agriculture.
Our mission is simple:
To provide emergency financial assistance, foreclosure prevention, loan servicing support, technical assistance, and disaster recovery resources that help farmers remain on their land and continue feeding America.
We believe that every farmer deserves a fair opportunity to succeed, regardless of race, geography, or the challenges they face.
Our Story
For decades, family farmers across the United States have struggled with rising debt, natural disasters, volatile markets, inflation, limited access to capital, and increasing foreclosure rates. Many producers—particularly Black farmers and other historically underserved farmers—have also experienced significant barriers to accessing agricultural credit, USDA programs, and other critical resources.
These challenges have resulted in the loss of millions of acres of farmland, thousands of family farming operations, and generations of agricultural wealth.
The National Farmers MicroFund was established to help change that story.
By providing direct support and connecting farmers with financial, legal, and technical resources, we work to stabilize farms today while building stronger, more resilient agricultural communities for tomorrow.
Our Mission
To preserve family farms by providing financial relief, loan servicing support, foreclosure prevention, technical assistance, and educational resources that strengthen the long-term viability of farmers and ranchers across the United States.
Our Vision
A future where every family farmer has access to the resources, financing, and support needed to sustain their operation, protect their land, and pass their agricultural legacy to the next generation.

Why Our Work Matters
Family farms are the backbone of rural America.
When a farm is lost:
Families lose generations of hard work.
Rural communities lose businesses and jobs.
Local food systems become weaker.
Agricultural heritage disappears.
Future generations lose opportunities.
By helping farmers remain financially stable, we are investing in stronger communities, healthier local economies, and a more resilient food system.
